NIGHTLIFE IN BANGKOK
Bangkok has a reputation as an important destination in the “adult industry” abroad. Bangkok has acquired the nickname “Sin City of Asia” for its level of sex tourism. Nightlife in Bangkok is tremendously wild & vibrant. In certain areas like Sukhumvit and Khao San Road, some bars are allowed to stay open till 02:00 or the whole night. One of the main party areas in Bangkok is Silom, home not only to Patpong, perhaps the world’s most famous go-go bar strip, but also to plenty of more legitimate establishments that cater for all levels of tourists.
Reminder: Smoking is prohibited in all restaurants, bars and nightclubs, whether they’re air-conditioned or not. It’s enforced at some venues, but in areas such as Nana Plaza, the ordinance is flouted.
9 Best Nightlife In Bangkok
01 Soi Cowboy
Soi Cowboy, one of the most popular hot spots to hang out at night besides Nana Plaza & Patpong. Easy access, within walking distance from the BTS Skytrain’s Asok Station and the Bangkok MRT Sukhumvit Station. Bunch of go-go bars along this 150m long street & mostly with bikini girls dancing inside the bar. My personal choice of bars: Tilac, Country Road Bar, The Oasis Soi Cowboy, Jungle Jim Pub, Toy Bar, Corner Bar, Penny Black Pub, Cowboy 2, Crazy House & Dundee A Go Go.
Patpong is internationally known as a red light district in Bangkok neighboring Bang Rak. Patpong is within walking distance from the BTS Skytrain Silom Line’s Sala Daeng Station, and MRT Blue Line’s Si Lom Station. The two parallel side streets Patpong 1 & 2 are also packed with go go bars. The best bars I prefer in this area: Kiss Bar Patpong, Madrid, Thigh Bar, Glamour Go-Go Bar, Safari, Black Pagoda & BarBar Fetish Club. – Best nightlife in Bangkok for bar hopping.
03 Nana Plaza
Along with Soi Cowboy and Patpong, Nana Plaza is one of Bangkok’s three most concentrated red-light districts. All attract primarily tourists. This three-story building is about 300 metres from the BTS Skytrain’s Nana Station. My personal choice: Iron Balls Distillery & Bar, Fitzgeralds, Spanky’s Agogo, Billboard Go-Go Bar, Chequers Bar, Angelwitch, Stumble Inn, PLAYSKOOL, New Lollipop & Butterflies Go-Go Bar.
04 Khaosan Road
Khaosan Road, the heaven for backpackers. It offers a lot of guesthouse type of accommodations and it becomes one of the most visited attractions for foreign tourists. At night, bars open, music is played, street food hawkers sell barbecued insects and other exotic snacks for tourists, and touts promoting ping pong shows (a type of sex show) everywhere along the road. The area is internationally known as a center of dancing & partying. – Best nightlife area in Bangkok for party lover.
